Well, that didn’t happen, surprise, surprise!
| Public Works Commissioner Richard Mendoza speaking at a recent Buckhead public meeting. |
BuckheadView asked Atlanta City Councilwoman Yolanda Adrean on Wednesday what happened to that project. She responded that she had been told the work began Wednesday on the repaving project.
Not always willing to believe what Atlanta city officials tell the public (and the media) BuckheadView drove West Paces Ferry Road from Peachtree Road to Northside Plarkway Wednesday afternoon.
Low and behold, the repaving project on West Paces Ferry Road has actually begun.
The city is responsible for the milling of the road and that work has begun. In fact, the road has been milled from Northside Parkway to Northside Drive. It is anticipated the rest of West Paces Ferry, from Northside Drive to Andrews or Peachtree will be completed within days.
Then comes the paving of the road, which is not the responsibility of the city of Atlanta, but will be done by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
We don’t know when GDOT will get the paving work done, but we can only hope it is soon.
